Judicial Commission Names Justice Sarmad Usmani as SC Judge

Alam for Chief Justice of Sindh High Court (SHC) in place of Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani, who has been nominated as a Supreme Court judge.
The decision has been made by Judicial Commission headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry here.
According to sources, the commission has recommended replacement of Justice Sarmad Jamal Usmani with Justice Mushir Alam in Sindh High Court.
It has also made a recommendation to regularize nine adhoc judges of the SHC.
“Discussions are under way to endorse regularization of 34 additional judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC),” sources added these recommendations will be sent to the Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment for further action.
