Living Social Offering Deal with Amazon
Living Social – Discount site Living Social is doing brisk business today with a 24-hour deal offering its members a $20 Amazon.com gift card for $10.
The deal runs for 24 hours, ending at 8 a.m. Eastern on Thursday. As of now, Living Social had sold nearly 525,000 of the gift cards. In December, Amazon invested $175 million in LivingSocial.
Group discount/coupon sites like LivingSocial & competitor Group on offer their members daily deals for local restaurants, tourist attractions & the like.
Jay Yarow at the Business Insider blog points out that today’s deal is as much about new customers for Living Social as it is about revenue.
