Chicago Teen Gets 26 Years for Killing


Chicago teenager has been sentenced to 26 year in prison for the association drubbing ending of a boy that was captured on video.
Eric Carson, 17, pleaded condemned to one counting of first-degree slay Fri & was sentenced immediately, the City Tribune reportable. Low Algonquin’ “truth-in-sentencing” law, he moldiness couple his intact term & leave be in situation until age 42.

Carson, a 16-year-old junior at Fenger High School in September 2009, was seen on the tape beginning the assault on Derrion Albert, 16, by hitting him over the head with a board. Albert fell to the pavement, where he was beaten & stomped by several others as he struggled to his feet.
Co-defendant Silvonus Shannon was convicted by a jury of first-degree murder & faces 20 to 60 years.
A third defendant, who was 14 at the time, was convicted of murder as a juvenile & sentenced Tuesday to juvenile detention until he turns 21. Eugene Riley & Lapoleon Colbert is awaiting trial.
The attack occurred during tensions at Fenger between students from a nearby neighborhood & those from a housing project.
